Because our races plugin is obviously still in BETA, some updates and changes are to be expected. Our first big patch to the races is making the bonusses and malusses a bit more subtle, and also fixing the vampirism infection of dwarves and elves.
Dwarves and elves were never meant to gain vampirism, it’s a disease that purely affects humans. Every vampire that chose either Elf or Dwarf as their race should have their race reset to raceless where the race picking cooldown does not apply.
The following changes have occured to races:
- Elf Bow damage plus down to 20% from 50%
- Elf damage taken down to 20% from 50%
- Dwarf bow damage minus down to 20% from 80%
We are currently working on adding extra races. The following are officially being made:
- Orcs
- Tigrans (Feline beings)
- Yanar (Plant beings)
- Fallen (undead)

Will races like Dwarves and Elves ever get powers not to do with combat? Elves being able to double jump (two blocks high) for example.
Does anybody know, who the developer of this plugin is?

I’m glad there’s going to be a lot more, most people seem to be swaying the way of the Dwarf. However, I personally do not like having combat advantages such as extra axe skill or Vamparism, so I always stay human. :)
I will always stay human too because I agree with u.
i hate it when they do it only for the combat upgrades, the purpose of it is for RP, the abilities are just a perk that can be intertwined with RP if creative enough
Elf would be nice, but you cant use the bow with all the lag
It’s not that laggy i shoot people all the time with bows and plus Elf is really powerful saying the bow damage.
I love the fact that your races arnt just a RP bases, there are pros and cons and abilitys. You guys are doing amazing!
Well, I like the RP side of it because there are stories and subraces, and this IS a RP server after all.
speaking of RP, im now a Yanar, specifically a nymph, named Ann Thoughsigh (thoh-sai) after the word for flower nymphs, Anthousai (i used wikipedia :P)

When I punch something, it says damage increased from 1-2, but my unarmed skill with MCMMO should give me +7 damage
The McMMO modifier is applied after in the calculation. So then it would increase from 1 to 2 to 9 or something. I may need to look into this.
I like vampirism for the passive bonus’s actually like not starving, breathing under water, no fall damage, extra jump ability, and mob passiveness. It’s good since I like to avoid fighting usually
I might switch to the aquatic race though sounds like it would be fun to play a selkath XD (kudo’s to those that get that reference)
Honestly, I think passive abilities add much more to RP than damage modifiers. vampires already say things like “Shriek, to prove you’re one of us!”
A Yanar priest ought to be able to say to a young dwarf with a fire-starter “Be careful! I’m made of Grass, I’ll burn up in an instant!” or “Ah, I can feel my health returning in the sunlight (you know, because photosynthesis)”
Or the agile Elf or Tigran leaping over a fence, followed by the dwarf “Um, I’m neither willing nor able to be more than a block off the ground!”
Or the Undead eating poisonous food, “I’m already dead, *wheeze* what could it do to me?”

i totally agree, abilities would be so much better than damage modifiers, thats the whole reason im still a vamp, i might switch to the aquatic race when it comes out tho
Or a Maiar saying “I would never eat my own kind, get that fish away from me!” or a Yanar teaching a young Elf herbalism. There could also be a Dwarf living with the Slayar subspecies of the Yanar underground and learning their ways of life. Or a Vampire going away from an Agni screaming ‘Don’t get near me I’ll burn to ashes!’
Well, iver read many books about and with dwarves, and their always SMALL
creatures… Why not making those MC dwarfes a litle bit smaller so then can walk thru just 1 1/2 blocks opening?
And, I think ( if it isn’t planned) for the Maiar, a better sight under water would be ver nice, i mean whats the use of speed, if u don’t know where ur swimming at? AND, i mean, the other races do all have troubles with
Monsters like zombies ua. what about a water mob, chasing only Maias?

I doubt they can actually add a new mob, but maybe hostile squids toward maiar. Squid could give you blindness if you attack them, you know, ’cause they ink.
I think Tigran should get night vision and reduced fall damage, and swim slower in water.
They are catlike, after all..
Agni’s should get Fire-Something at 40% in sunlight, 30% in shadows, 10% in close to or pitch black, 50% when on fire, and 70% when fighting in lava/fire.
And as for Type 3 Races, you could make one for normal players that doesn’t have too many fancy abilites. Cay does need money for his food…

I like that all these new races are coming around but, why are agni not in the official book for them ? O_O
Mabey yanar’s crops can grow faster, they could be healed in rain, and take damage from eating meat.
i think the maiar should be able to mine faster in water and be stronger and be able to see clearly all in the water.
Tigrans should take less fall damage and charge their jumps
