Dear readers, today we have some big news. Regalia is going to be the new center of civilization as we know it. Till now Silver Edge has had this role;however, after a discussion between the supreme reverend of Regalia (Wolffram) and the mayor of Silver Edge (Ninja Baver), it was decided that the two cities should unite and join forces.
With the resources that Regalia will offer to all of it’s citizens everyone is now encouraged to move there. Places such as Silverwind and Prospera will become obsolete, meaning all ship travel and the majority of trade will go through Regalia instead. You can rent your own house in the city, travel to every known corner of the world or even get a market stall to become rich. Regalia has endless possibilities and is truly a brighter future for us all.

Finally! :D
Am I dreaming? This can’t be… oh my god… thank you…
Of course this happens while I’m at work >.>
Tell me about it >.>
But… Wolffram died yesterday at Osai :O
Couldnt have been worse, no countdown timer, it just released without warning. All preparation was pointless.
If they gave warning, 150 premiums would be online right at the time it would open. This would be completely unfair for non-premiums and I think they did the right thing.
More like 200 premiums xD
I know, they should have had a countdown so all the premiums could camp out and take all the slots.
Wait no thats a terrible idea.
I feel sorry for everyone who was prepping and waiting for a countdown to this but then I look back at the ellador countdown and opening and remember how hectic and laggy it was for the whole server and the mods. Now a here’s to hoping I can still get a house and market stall
I don’t like it how you have to rent a house why can’t you just buy a house
But it costs more money
Because that would be stupid.
1. By renting houses, they make sure, that every month some money will disappear.
2. With this renting system, everybody has the chance to get the house, he likes, one day. (It prevents, that all houses are sold forever. That would be very unfair for new players.)
3. People buy a house, and abandon it. This makes it more active.
1) I believe 50 in Roman Numerals is L
2) Is Prospera the name of the marketplace in Regalia, because the contract says “This money could be spent on renting a market stall in prospera.”
It’s fixed now. thanks for pointing it out. Changed the VX to 50 since not everyone knows roman numerals and I tried to make it simple with just VX but that is kind of dumb when it’s not even correct :P
Do you hand draw the letters or is it a font. If it’s a font, will you send me the file; I want it for making even stuff.
I feel there was a lack of explanation of the rules, I ended up spending all my faction money on houses instead of shops and now I do not have enough cash for the shops :/
Ask for a refund :)
Will do at my earliest freedom :)
So regalia is new hub center for server, cool. And then we have the other worlds like ellador, ceardia, daendroc for civilization and silver wind for travel hub
Silverwind will most likely be deleted since Regalia is the center for trade and travel now.
I wonder how thoughtful overall project of Regalia was. On a first glance beautiful but more I think about it I’m wondering if it was right thing to do. Don’t get me wrong brilliant work and hard work no doubt, very beautiful place and kudos to all that worked and helped. My feelings are coming from real world observations, town is not something that can be just build overnight. Many country’s tried building town with everything planed ahead but what they got was soulless boring places. Town is evolution from few houses to few more and so on until town is born. That is what brings character in to place. Diversity is key to it. Silveredge has this, different building different styles something that is interesting to look at. Regalia is artificial product (like Canberra in Australia better known as can-boring). Second thing is strict planning, shops are allowed only in one part of town, why would people than even venture in other parts, no architecture no shops no nothing. Shops, architecture landmarks and similar things are the things that make people go to other parts of town. Here we have none of that. Why would we even buy house in town, no benefit at all (not allowed shops). And last which I might be wrong since I’m not economist but I have feeling that 50 silver a month for a small stand in remote end of market is way overpriced, I think my shop in Prospera is doing well but there will not be much left once I pay for shop not very good for economy when government takes 80% of your income. On top of that I can’t open a proper store where I can sell everything since we are limited to small stalls, again does not reflect real world and therefore tried and true principles
Again all kudos to everybody that put hard work in to this place it looks magnificent, will it work we will see
SilverEdge is Butt ugly, sorry :P
That’s how Old Osai Town, various Pristina Cities, Gran Laurona, and my current town grew. I will say this, I like them just as much as Regalia :)
Yea, i personally think that Reglia has more life now then SilverEdge ever had :D
I never felt that SilverEdge was interesting. Not even from the start to be honest. And all the administration work needed to keep the whole city from exploding into chaos have been haunting me every day :p
He does make a point.. Personally, I think Regalia is absolutely beautiful, and on a side note, you guys should totally make a recipe for those stone slab blocks that I see all over the place! But back to the topic, I think the market stall prices should probably help a bit with the supposedly messed up economy. No system is perfect here, especially when we are using a game that wasn’t made to be played as we are playing it. We are only limited to what we are given. With that said, Massive does an amazing job at effectively tackling the issues we face. Yea, it’s not perfect, but we are damn well trying! Good job guys.
The prices will probably change over time for sure. But we have to start somewhere so I guess Regalia is in kind of a BETA test part at the moment :p
Regalia ended up as it was supposed to. The merchant area prizes may be a bit high, but we assured that these prices work (when you are a decant merchant). Sure the concept is different, so the price will (most likely) change over time.
What you miss in your list of points is the following:
From a roleplay perspective, Regalia is a big empire already and has a lot of people around. Thus, it’s appropriate to have such a big city.
Secondly, having an overall nice design in the central world is the best thing that can happen. Players get inspired by the buildings, we don’t have to care about ugly buildings at all, new players enjoy a clean and proper city…..and there a lot more reasons I could name.
Can-boring? It’s a pretty city, thank you very much for insulting the capital of Australia.
On topic though, I fell as though I am walking through a big empire when I am in Regalia. The RP story matches the city, so kudos to everyone involved.
Whenever I walk through the city, I feel like a vampire. It’s strange, because I’m not. I feel like biting the neck off this one guy named Wolffram… I think I need to live in isolation for a while.
