Farmlands had been fairly abandoned for the past months, it’s inhabitants joined other factions or simply left Ceardia to pass over to newer lands with more future. Today, after a series of violent earthquakes, Farmlands was torn asunder as the many houses and castles collapsed and the very ground itself opened up causing water to flow into the streets. What remains of Farmlands is little but a pile of rubble and memories of long ago.

Ruins of Farmlands

Ruins of Farmlands

Farmlands was once one of the greater Empires of Ceardia, it was founded close to Silverwind as one of the earliest cities to rise on the continent. In the past, Farmlands was involved in numerous great historical events. A grand war took place between Farmlands and Aegyptus, as well as Rising sun. In the end Farmlands could however not resist the pure force of nature itself, and the great faction is no more.

    so it finally happend….

  7. justin5191 2012-11-08 at 15:53

    Why?!?!?!?!?

    • GraphicLeaf 2012-11-09 at 15:41

      I wish I knew :(
It’s the first time moderators actually grief a hole faction without permission from their leaders (me and J3r3my).

      • Philliph 2012-11-12 at 15:27

in the beginning, farmlands was a beautiful faction :(

  8. j3r3my 2012-11-08 at 18:24

Ehh.. What the F*** is Aegyptus? I for sure can’t recall a big war with them

    • DaSupahNinja 2012-11-08 at 21:46

Aegyptus was the original base of the faction RisingSun, it was a server warp for a long time but it was recently removed.

      • outsiderx2 2012-11-09 at 03:17

the name aegyptus was giving to it by the mods when it was moved from Aloria to Cearida after the map deletion. No one in Rising Sun ever called it that and I try to keep the wiki up to date with these things.

        • j3r3my 2012-11-09 at 22:29

So in other words, by the time it was called Aegyptus the conflict was long gone. *facepalm*

  9. Jugswe 2012-11-08 at 18:29

It sure was a great kingdom, with a great leader. Farmlands was the oldest faction, and the remains of it will remind us of the power of mother nature.
I remember living there. Ohh, old memories.

    • outsiderx2 2012-11-09 at 03:18

nope…longest active running faction is Rising Sun…maybe by a few days but not Farmlands…thats the reason RS attacked them was because of how close they were when they started building.

  10. GraphicLeaf 2012-11-08 at 18:35

    What the…?!
Why whould you do such a thing?
J3r3my and I worked for month with great people at our sides to build this empire. An empire that has now come to been griefed by the admins themself as it seems to be. How could this come to happen without contacting us first?
    This was a real disappointment…

    • 05rhardy 2012-11-10 at 00:27

Sorry, who’s empire? It had no occupants, therefore, it wasn’t yours. I built some things in silveredge, doesn’t make it mine. The farmlands were a permanent faction, therefore any one player could not posses it, we don’t allow it. If you wanted the farmlands back, you should’ve contacted us, not acting like a child on the website when we finally get rid of the most useless faction that was sitting there hogging land unfairly.

      • justin5191 2012-11-10 at 04:55

I thought that when a faction was made permanent by the mods after talking with the leaders of said faction that said faction would be permanent.

      • GraphicLeaf 2012-11-10 at 23:47

We requested the faction to be permanented to be remained as a memorial of those 6 month of hard work and memories we had created together with many people. It was clearely said that me and J3r3my was the owner of the faction and I’ve talked several times with other mods about the situation of farmlands. Sadly, you’ve must have missed that when you started moderating here. There was no need to do what you guys did, and I’m really sad about were this is heading.

      • hamcheese35 2012-11-12 at 20:53

Yes but what about Palace? I see Kurtotto working on that perm faction from his faction (which is also permanent) a lot.

        • j3r3my 2012-11-12 at 22:38

Quess there’s difference between factions and factions.

          • j3r3my 2012-11-12 at 22:42

            Guess*

        • j3r3my 2012-11-13 at 17:43

He’s building on it right now. Earthquake soon?

          • igel_son 2012-11-13 at 18:25

Did not know the perms where wrong there, fixed.

    • MonMarty 2012-11-10 at 02:37

This roleplay coverup essentially masks a grief, but you have to understand the reason behind it. When the last member of Farmlands left, we perm’d the faction to prevent “looting” and griefing. Little did we know the perms were set to allies and you and your friends continued to use the land as if you actually owned it. In a hinsight we decided not to ban any of you because it didn’t exactly scream “do not touch” but you should have known better.

All 1432 chests have been removed and the area has been neutralized.

      • j3r3my 2012-11-10 at 11:39

Is there any way to access the items in the chests? The reason I recently requested access was that I wanted to move my belongings from Farmlands, and obviously I wasn’t fast enough…

      • j3r3my 2012-11-10 at 12:17

        And also;
‘In a hinsight we decided not to ban any of you because it didn’t exactly scream “do not touch” but you should have known better.’

Known better? Igel changed the permissions of the faction just a week or two ago, so that I could move my items. Prior to that, I had no access to the land whatsoever. Besides that I didn’t have any ‘friends’ doing stuff there, not to my knowledge at least :)

        • hamcheese35 2012-11-12 at 20:55

Yes j3r3my is telling the truth, Fuschia (the faction he’s in) was not always Farmland’s ally until recently. So he couldn’t have been using Farmlands all of this time

      • GraphicLeaf 2012-11-11 at 13:15

MonMarty: I would wish to know what your connections are to haka91 and koertge? As far as I know, they hated our faction and raided it every single day. Could this be on their commands?

        • MonMarty 2012-11-12 at 00:09

You are wholesomely misinformed on everything. Farmlands was made permanent to prevent griefing and looting, if you didn’t want this to happen you should never have left the faction, we don’t permanent something because “omg we love this faction so much and it’s so important”, we permanent stuff that is claimed by the server.

But sure, if it’s simpler for you, imagine koertge commanded me to grief Farmlands, and I as an admin to a player, ofcourse obeyed.

          • Graphicleaf 2012-11-12 at 23:58

“Prevent griefing and lootings”…. Yes, i know that and that’s why I don’t like what you guys did. You did excactly what we tried to avoid. Sence I work most of the time and Jeremy as well, we didn’t have the time to run Farmlands at that moment. So to save about 600 chunks from getting lost and get raid, these actions were necessary. Why can’t you accept that what you did could have been handled in a different way and what you did was wrong?

  11. Jomdorr 2012-11-09 at 21:25

i remember being a part of trigent (bloodstorm at the time) and getting raided by them, good times we very much lost but it was fun !

  12. Skylord_Ross 2012-11-10 at 14:42

    Ceardia Is falling…….

  13. Ironhippo 2012-11-12 at 02:14

There’s earthquakes on this server wow!

  14. MonMarty 2012-11-12 at 20:23

You do know that before The earthquake happened, nobody really gave a shit about the faction at all, the wiki has been abandoned (arguably griefed), the lands were never visited by anyone and it just kindof sat there.

The post mortem looting broke the agreement of the permanent flag, so everything had to be removed.

I could have deleted the entire faction and cleared the land completely, but I chose not to.

    • MonMarty 2012-11-12 at 20:28

It should also be noted that I have been an admin for several months now, and I have never heard anything good about farmlands in all the time I have been here.

This says something about this faction’s ability to speak to new players or important as a general whole.

In the end, people only apply for permanent flag so they can protect their work from griefing or take-over of other factions, which in the end is unfair, because farmlands was not any more important then Rising sun, and that faction doesn’t have permanent either.

Farmlands should have died when it lost all it’s member, that is the natural process of factions on Massivecraft. If everyone really cared so much about Farmlands, they would have united and rejoined the empire to make it better, instead everyone scattered out, made their own factions or simply joined other factions.

It’s really easy to sit comfortably in your new faction complaining about all the evil the admins have done to your old faction, but you forget you could have prevented it from happening if you had simply stayed in the faction.

      • justin5191 2012-11-13 at 16:05

MonMarty there actually were discussions taking place between the old leadership of Farmlands we were beginning to plan to rebuild and hopefully re-assume control when this happened. If the mods and admins had taken the time to contact us before destroying the entire faction that would have been nice.

  15. CRACKPOTATOE 2012-11-12 at 21:29

“Farmlands was made permanent to prevent griefing”

Isn’t that EXACTLY what you have done?

“the lands were never visited by anyone and it just KIND OF SAT THERE.”

Well Jesus Christ if you we going to get rid of the faction why not just wipe it from the face of the earth and create space for some other faction. Now it really does just KIND OF SIT THERE, looking even worse than it did before.

This whole thing would have been avoided if it was left be, Ceardia is being destroyed anyway and everyone’s good memories will be lost. Pointless act of destruction, and I am also disappointed.

    • j3r3my 2012-11-12 at 22:46

I guess it’s better if it just sits there and looks griefed :)

    • Graphicleaf 2012-11-12 at 23:41

Todays mods doesn’t seem to enjoy having well built cities for people to look back on. No, they think a griefed memorial is a good memorial, rather than respect the past. Thanks for standing up for us Potatoe!

      • CRACKPOTATOE 2012-11-13 at 02:22

Most of them weren’t here for the past when these factions were alive and great. They do not understand yet.

Monmarty would feel the exact same way if j3r3my was a moderator and Regalia was a faction. But apparently, we the people don’t matter anymore.

(Also why it took 29 days and at least 12 helpops to get rid of one door)

    • igel_son 2012-11-13 at 06:55

Seriously Graphicleaf, wth. You have not cared about Farmlands or Massivecraft as its whole for perhaps a halfyear, no one showed any interest in keeping or intentions to ever use the faction again and since its permanented and no players in it it’s owned by the server so chill down! Ceardia is not gonna live forever, so why would Farmlands?

      • igel_son 2012-11-13 at 07:01

Nostalgic reasons starting to piss me off as well. Take a printscreen for crying out loud.

        • GraphicLeaf 2012-11-14 at 16:47

I’ve cared a long time, knowing that the faction still was there was nice to know. To have been able to go there one last time before Ceardia went down would have been a nice farwell. They could have given us a little hint for crying out loud. Now all I’ll see when I go there is a griefed town…

    • Ryank1998 2013-03-24 at 21:46

I don’t meet to sound like a jerk, but you’ve raged like, 5 times so far, if you have a problem with the way the server is run, then leave.

  16. j3r3my 2012-11-12 at 22:47

I don’t think rollback is possible, looks like VoxelSniper has been used (if not, definitely WorldEdit or equivalent). I’m not sure the server records those kind of actions.

  17. CRACKPOTATOE 2012-11-13 at 02:27

“more important then Rising sun, and that faction doesn’t have permanent either.”

So it seems that all permanent factions are going to be greifed by moderators, I can see Aegyptus lying in a heap of shit an a month or so because it is no different to Farmlands. Way to ruin and defile peoples memories and good fun just because you weren’t there to experience them too.

  18. justin5191 2012-11-13 at 16:08

I hope you dont mind my asking, but why was Farmlands singled out?

    • igel_son 2012-11-13 at 18:18

Rp perspective from Igel’s opinion. Continuation of crazy stuff happening in Ceardia, lava in Lukkerdam, floods in Farmlands, perhaps something is not right with Ceardia? :O

      • CRACKPOTATOE 2012-11-13 at 22:37

The beginning of the end? perhaps the entire continent will dissapear under the waves! :O

        • El_Chriso2016 2012-11-18 at 12:57

Oh my god! We’re all going to die!!

        • Ryank1998 2013-03-24 at 21:41

Good thing I live on a mountain, oh that could be cool, ceardia reduced to islands of high ground.

  19. willfit1234 2012-11-19 at 03:31

Finally you see we need to stop the end before it happens.

  20. dndandan 2013-02-21 at 13:24
