It was dark, cloudy, and freezing, and all hope on the server of MassiveCraft seemed to vanish yesterday as the powerful St. Nick and his reindeer, elf and snowman minions appeared to punish all the naughty players. Unfortunately, St. Nick had decided that EVERYONE was naughty! The warriors and heroes of the server rallied to fight back this new menace in MassiveCraft’s latest PVE event, The Battle for Winter. With over 40 players participating in the fight against forces that sought to destroy holiday cheer, it was not long before St. Nick was beaten back.

Players soon discovered that the jolly (and maniacal) Kris Kringle was not the only force working to crush the spirit of winter. Just as the battle against St. Nick was won, Thortuna herself, the powerful lightning goddess of fish appeared to destroy the hopes and dreams of all players. The players rose to the challenge yet again and defeated the goddess. The monster incarnations of many other staff including Addrion, Omnomivore, Cayorion, Diaphonos, and Monmarty also rose in her wake, but they too fell to the combined might of the players.

But the Staff were not the final boss monsters that the heroes of MassiveCraft would have to face on that day. As the lines between our world and the beyond were bent, the most horrific beast yet, Cthulhu, appeared to deal the final blow to the holiday season. It was a colossal giant with the power to create explosions, and many players perished as they bravely faced off against the destroyer of worlds. However after a long fight they defeated the body of Cthulhu, and with their bows they shot down the terrifying floating mind of Cthulhu.
