Direction
This week, Direction focused on maintaining current staff systems.

  • LumosJared focused on an upcoming race update, Individual Direction, and staff HR talks.
  • MonMarty focused on lore rewrites, roleplay rule revisions, and server finances.

World
This week was fairly productive for the World department as a whole. The cathedral was shortened in size (announce emotes now fill the whole building) to allow for space behind it, which now features some of the new Eronidas district. The courthouse was moved, Telarel gardens finished, de Piedmont estate finished, work on the Latimer estate continued, and some shops decorated in New Crookback.

  • SpunSugar finished the Telarel estate gardens.
  • Bunemma worked to finish up the de Piedmont estate, and set up some events.
  • WaterDruppel helped MonMarty with work on the Eronidas district, finished decoration in darkemporium 7 & 10, and worked some more on the Latimer estate.

Game

Here are some updates on the projects we have been working on:

  • This week, The Game Department saw the resignation of two members, Sir_Daragon and Winterless. We are thankful for all they have done for the server during their time as staff.
  • A MassiveRaces Rework went live yesterday! To celebrate the rework, MassiveCraft has its first XP Bonus Weekend where mcMMO experience is increased and race advancement times are halved! This event started at 03:00AM EST Saturday, 27-Mar-2021 and will end at 03:00 EST Monday, 29-Mar-2021. Here are the Races changes:
    • Ailor – Human Tenacity passive extra hearts removed Human Tenacity absorption hearts can activate every 30 seconds
    • Altalar – Living mastery has been fixed so /race preference reflects damage taken properly Pantheon’s Wrath ultimate damage can deal a configurable amount of damage ignoring armor in addition to the initial lightning damage. This is currently set at 1 heart per strike additional damage through armor.
    • Dwarf – Stalwart Health speed debuff has been removed Ancient Soul ultimate damage dealt reduction has been removed Passive Haste 2 ability moved from level 4 to level 1
    • Orc – Enduring Strikes speed debuff has been removed Rageful might damage has been reduced by 5
  • For MassiveVillagers, Tech Staff are incorporating logging mechanisms for villager trading as a way to prevent abuse. Keep trapping zombie villagers! Expect this to drop soon!
  • For Netherite, we have passed the task of creating the Netherite MythicMob to another member of staff.
  • For the KitPVP rework, Tech Staff have updated the necessary permissions system and the plugin itself to the newest version. We will continue to work on this rework.
  • 48 player tickets, mythic mob creation, numerous help chats, world cleanup and restoration, and naughty player investigations were completed.   • QGMK aided players, handled appeals and reports, built Gauntlet Levels, tested MassiveVillagers, and trained Rank 2 Game Staff members.
  • BlueChaos aided players, hosted events, tested MythicMobs, and investigated players.
  • TakeDown__ aided players, tested MythicMobs, and investigated players.
  • Sevak answered help chats, aided players, handled war declarations, and tested MassiveRaces.
  • Sweet_Dreams aided players, hosted events, and planned the Easter Event.

Lore Updates:

  • The new GUI regalian fast travel is slowly being implemented. Kent teleports players to City Locations, and possibly in the future also popular hangout places.

  • Orc revision is out! Orcs are now known as Eronidas:

  • Metallurgy and Finecraft have been reworked into the new Metallurgy Pack-buying system, accompanying the Eronidas lore release. All Metallurgy and Finecraft Characters will have to redistribute their points based on the new format https://wiki.massivecraft.com/Metallurgy
  • The Regalia V5 Spawn has been moved! We’ve done this to accommodate some upcoming structural changes to v5 in preparation for v6, but in addition, a new basic tutorial system has been added to the new Roleplay Spawn location. In addition, two npcs are there with convenient factors related to teleports, and an instant teleport to /tp fast travel.
  • Racials have been reworked. Largely most Abilities remain roughly similar, but overall, a lot of them faced heavy changes. https://wiki.massivecraft.com/Ailor#Summary_of_Racial_Abilities
  • After some internal discussion, Staff has come to the conclusion of a new policy when it comes to making Tickets:
  • We will no-longer be accepting or responding to Middle Man Ticketing what this means is, if you have a question, you should not have someone else make the ticket and play telephone with us, you should make it yourself. Or, if you see someone having a problem, you should encourage them to make a ticket rather than making it on their behalf, especially if they may or may not want it. If confidentiality is the issue, this can be brought to Direction.

Roleplay Updates:

  • Gorataan as a district is being removed from the Regalian map. Please clear out your homes of any valuables. If any houses are still rented in about a week, MonMarty will issue refunds and then clear them
  • Vandalism rules have changed. Positive Vandalism (like drawing paintings and putting down lots of flowers) still follows the old personal identifying rules.
  • Negative Vandalism like destroying or depicting things with an intent to cause conflict follows a somewhat new set of rules:
  • – First, Staff will ask what group will take responsibility or claim the action. Group does not need to specifically refer to an actual group, but can also just be what these people represent so “the Worshipers or X” or “Sons of Y”. There must always be one group claiming an action, but multiple groups can also claim.
  • – If no Group makes a claim, the old rules will default, meaning all participants will be revealed by name and the information becomes public.
  • – The group who claimed the action will be asked to leave some sort of message for their Vandalism behind.
  • Random vandalism without story or conflict starting purposes will still also default to the old “all names get published” rules.

Quest

This week work continued on the spring festival as well as building and preparations for the second installment of the gauntlet parkour dungeons. Quest signs are now fully operational again thanks to Cs_Birb. We are grateful that several of you have reached out and applied for our department recently and hope more will follow!   • Lazzulai wrote and released an additional quest for the spring festival and did event acting.
  • The_Fluorspar worked on the gauntlet dungeon.

Tech

This week, tech has been working on MassiveRaces to make the plugin more configurable and be more aware of its own configuration when performing commands such as /race info.

  • FourThirteen has been working on MassiveRaces to make the plugin more configurable and more aware of its own configuration. He has been adding placeholders within the plugin to handle these items so commands such as /race info will automatically update when the configuration changes. He has also been working on a new level for the gauntlet.
  • XxXYaJrAbXxX has been working on the Kingdoms PTS server to get it ready for player release (more information to follow within the coming days). He has been configuring permissions and plugins so that players have essential plugins to help them with the appropriate testing of the plugin. He has also worked on MassiveRaces with XVW to implement feedback for when your ultimate is available again after use and send you an appropriate message then as well as a minor fix within the /race level command. Finally XxXYaJrAbXxX has adjusted MassiveSkull to account for when people combat log meaning skulls still have a chance of dropping in these cases.
  • Ghirko has been working on the Vampires plugin to allow players to make holy water with the other ingredients for holy water in their hand when right clicking an altar of light. Currently, the behaviour is that you must right click with a water bottle to make a holy water potion. She has also helped FourThirteen with the implementation of MassiveRaces to make the plugin more configurable.
  • XVW has been working on MassiveRaces working on feature implementation such as the feedback for when your ultimate is ready and fixing the /race level command. He has also been working on MassiveRaces to allow the cooldown clear command to take a player parameter for future implementation into quests and other uses. Finally XVW has been doing MassiveVillager testing to help test the plugin for any final bugs before release.
