World
This week for world we mainly did event set-ups, finished work on a new dungeon, some gang base decorations, and our usual tasks of regalia upkeep/tickets.

  • SpunSugar did the corrupted garden’s at the Villat estate, as requested interior edits, which was a meeting room and a few block changes.
  • WaterDruppel worked on the dungeon with EdnaMode. Proceeded with adding more decorations like crypts in the wall, broken down sections, etc. Decorated basic tombs, and put some statues, candles and bucket-fire-things here and there. Finalized the puzzle rooms with Bunemma: placed a ‘movable’ pillar and added a small chapel-like room with a pedestal for a sword.
  • Bunemma assisted WaterDruppel in finalizing the dungeon and doing the puzzle rooms.
  • EdnaMode Worked on the Dungeon adding detail work and aesthetics. Also started on decorating venues for some upcoming events.

Lore
Lore Updates:

  • It’s been such a long time now, and we’re starting to hit closer to our yearly “review of how we do Permissions” that happens every summer break. While we are still very happy with the current format of review, we want to eventually change the way we deal with Permissions by removing the category-based distinctions, and moving to a more free-form request of a specific something that we can then place in lore based on our interpretation or where we think it fits, rather than expressly worrying about whether it is more a Primal Mage Kit, or an Arken Pact, or a Greater Vampire Permission. In the meantime, we have studied enough rejected Permission Applications and successful ones to come up with a very comprehensive list of do’s and dont’s that involve writing Argumentation for Special Permissions. This Guide will show you exactly why certain buzzwords are declined, and how to build a good argumentation that can be tested, and is truthful.
  • Undead Characters are NOT immune to pain unless they specifically have something in their kit that says they are. The base undead kit only specifies the following:
-They cannot be killed except by deapitation or complete destruction of the Body.
-They do not need to breathe.
  • They still feel pain and are affected by attacks like anyone else would be, unless they have an exception in their kit itself.
  • Regalian Roleplay posts on the Forums can be edited by the user again. It was argued that the risk for players self-retconning without lore staff approval statements made that were in the review of IC canon, was in fact more an exception than a norm to be concerned about, and this remains true. With the loss of editing aesthetics, the risk of rule violations was considered to be less of a gain than the implied loss of player agency.

World System Updates:

Event Updates

  • With the Fae Sepulchre raided once more, the Mother Alexi of the Unionist Church of the Beggar has recovered the Flaming Sword of the Heron.

Roleplay Updates

  • The Blood Moon rose and with it came a swarm of Sanguine thirsty to convert and consume from Regalia’s citizenry. In the wake of its damage, Crookback and the Guard clashed! Resulting in the destruction of both checkpoints, and the eventual surrender of the citizenry.

PR
This week the PR staff team attended the interview training seminar held by Marty and Hemingway7.

  • Kirishark submitted the PR round-up and asked players questions in addition to the skin branding project.
  • Flossy attended the interview training seminar and took notes.
  • Battlebrawn attended the interview training seminar and finished up his factions spotlight.
  • Seoulmate attended the interview training seminar, finished the weekly round-up and made a weekly round-up graphic.
  • Northern_Ireland finished the player spotlight featuring Occularum and attended the interview training seminar.

Tech
This week, tech has been working on the 1.17 update.

  • XxXYaJrAbXxX has been working on the 1.17 update. He has updated a majority of our open source plugins and encountered an error while updating Vampires. XxXYaJrAbXxX and CS_Birb attempted to find the cause of this error and figured there was an issue with serialising itemstacks. XxXYaJrAbXxX, CS_Birb and TheComputerGeek2 have been working together to attempt to find out what is causing this issue so we can continue to progress in the 1.17 update.
  • CS_Birb has been reviewing the code for MassiveVillagers and MassiveWild. He has also made some minor improvements for MWild so it retrieves a valid teleport to be within the border of the world. He has also been pair coding with…
  • XVW has been working on MassiveRaces to fix a bug with the Altalar lightning ability where it was striking allies. He has also been working on the Dwarf ability of how potion effects are applied to the player. This means other races ultimates will now work against Dwarfs instead of them being immune to them. Finally, he has been working on the Isldar ultimate ability to apply a debuff when it is used. This means the player will take more damage for X seconds or while the ultimate is activated.
