Direction
This week, Direction focused on a variety of projects.

  • LumosJared worked on financial updates, lore tickets, direction paperwork, and lore dming.
  • MonMarty worked on the World System, Roleplay Events, the Imperial Family page, and lore reworks.
  • BillyTheScruffy worked on the PR department overhead, lore events, the progression system, and maintenence in the lore department.
  • Birdsfoot_Violet worked on lore updates, wiki maintenance, the Special Permission System, tickets, and individual direction.
  • CS_Birb worked on the 1.17 project.

Lore
Lore Updates:

  • https://wiki.massivecraft.com/Cahalism
  • – Renamed it, obviously, because the whole Beast part of Werebeast is moving beyond the scope of what it originally meant to be.
  • – Reworked history. Left some Vampire slavery lore in place, but made it less important so that there’s not so much Vampire vs Cahal hate. But there’s stil some of it in case y’all wanna have an option to play Werebeast vs Vampire.
  • – Reworked feeding completely. I didn’t want to make Cahal feeding easy, that is to say “non hostile”. I wanted to keep some kind of “wow okay maybe we’re the bad guys” element in there, but not as obviously evil as drinking someone’s blood like Vampires. I think I struck a decent compromise.
  • – Opened up the mentality stuff a bit so there’s more freedom.
  • – Reworked the Soul Lines Now are Usaar, Elen, Aphar and Scor, which roughly correlate to Ursarr Uthurenn, Raprran and Scorrico, but have different themes so there’s more design freedom. Instead of being theme bound to specific animals, they are theme bound to niches or crp/intellect/magic/support roles.
  • – Trying out new Brood usage with some Abilities. Will probably apply this to Vampire Broods down the line too if we’re satisfied with this.
  • Silver Skinwalkers and Capra Deim have been retconned from Lore. Silver skinwalkers can roughly 1:1 into Cahal without the anti-fun Abilities. Capra Deim are just gone. Sorry.
  • Ring of Keys aspect of Arken Knowledge has been changed that it can only disguise/work on Silven and Dragonbloods.

World System Updates:

  • This is a general PSA reminder that as Nobility, you are under a particular ooc code of conduct. At no point should there be targeted nasty, snidey remarks made to other players in or outside of the system regarding their roleplay or involvement in the system. Period. Both Marty and I actively encourage family members and family heads to self police this behaviour by reporting such conduct violations through the ticket bot. We have a 0 tolerance OOC bullying policy in place and we will revoke a families nobility permission if toxic behaviour permeates from a specific group.

  • Continuous sightings and attacks from these wax-like creatures persist. Rumor is nought but considered truth now. They attack during the day! Be weary of what you see, for it may not be real, or it may be all too real.

Roleplay Updates:

Game
Here are some updates from this week:

  • We have 1 remaining Gauntlet Level to build, 1 remaining item reward to make, and all of the Quests to implement before the next batch of Gauntlet Dungeons levels is released!
  • We have a fresh World Cleanup Thread for all worlds where you can post coordinates of areas to restore! Please use the template shown on the thread: https://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/survival-cleanup-project.94720/
  • Having disconnected claims in Essa has been against the rules since its release. As of now, you will physically not be able to claim a chunk unless it is connected to existing claims in Essa. Future worlds will likely follow these rules.
  • True 1.8-style saturation is finally here! Saturation will accumulate as normal, but exhaustion will now continue to draw from your Saturation before drawing from your Food level.
  • Players are shown on the Dynmap (/map) when they are in combat!
  • The slow falling effect is now combat tagged, which means upon entering combat, it will be removed from your active effects. If you are in combat, you are not eligible to receive the slow falling effect.

  • QGMK aided players, handled reports and appeals, made changes to the Factions and MassiveCombat plugin configurations, trained Game Staff members, and worked on Gauntlet Dungeons.
  • BlueChaos aided players, created and tested new MythicMobs, hosted Parkour, created a room at /tp Essalonia for the Crates, and restored parts of Essalonia.
  • Effloresce_ aided players, created a room at /tp Essalonia for the Crates, and aided in fixing broken chunks in Regalia.
  • Skhosh aided players, answered help chats, handled war declarations, hosted Parkour Event, created item rewards for The Gauntlet, created a room at /tp Essalonia for the Crates, and trained Game Staff Aspirants.
  • Sevak aided players, created the setup for the PVP Tournament (see above), and updated the weekly PVP scoreboard.
  • Talantius aided players and tested MythicMobs.
  • Daddy_Bill answered help chats, tested MythicMobs, and aided with designing the aesthetics and abilities of a upcoming [REDACTED] and mobs.
  • Rahm_Kota answered help chats, aided with designing the aesthetics and abilities of a upcoming [REDACTED], and performed Aspirant training.

PR
This week the PR staff team has been busy! Most of us have been chipping away at our own personal projects this week, which can all be found in our new handy dandy PR Directory. We discussed project progress at our speedrun and hope to continue that discussion at the department meeting this Sunday. We hope to have the podcast recording done this week.

  • Kirishark submitted the PR round-up, answered tickets, posted the Massivelooks Showcase and prepared for the podcast recording this week.
  • Wan_Xia has been refining animations and implementing models as mythic mobs, in addition to implementing siege weapons into the game, like the trebuchet.
  • Femma reminded players to vote, prepared for the podcast recording this week and posted to the Massivecraft Twitter and Pinterest accounts.
  • Battlebrawn has been working on the next factions spotlight and with Hierophant on the MassiveLogo project.
  • HeyItzPotatoe has been doing cinematic recording and video editing. They produced some gifs to be used across social media.
  • Hierophant has been working with Battlebrawn on the MassiveLogo rebrand project.

Quest
This week, Quest has been working on Mythic Mobs for an in-game event revolving around the Zikiel Vampiric Bloodline.

  • Derpadillo worked on mob development and testing.
  • Wan_Xia worked on mob development and testing.
