Direction
This week, Direction met to discuss and review roleplay systems, rank changes, and and other topics.

  • MonMarty worked on server maintenance and roleplay updates.
  • LumosJared reviewed roleplay systems.
  • Derpadillo performed plugin instillation, testing, and configuration on the test server and individual direction for Quest staff.
  • Birdsfoot_violet reviewed roleplay systems and performed individual direction for Lore staff.
  • BillyTheScruffy reviewed roleplay systems and performed individual direction for PR staff.
  • QGMK hosted Survival Staff meetings, completed Direction paperwork, and performed individual direction for Game staff.

Game
This week, Game has been working on several projects:

  1. 1. Minor QoL Updates:
    a. The /color premium feature can now be used on Glazed Terracotta. Purchase premium here: https://shop.massivecraft.com/category/1210463
    b. Locked Chests can now pull from Unlocked Hoppers if the hopper setting for the lock is set to ON. /lock edit Hoppers on
    c. Locked Hoppers can now pull from Unlocked Chests if the hopper setting for the lock is ON. /lock edit Hoppers on
  2. Major voting update: Each individual vote will now grant 10 regals instead of 5! The Regal Lottery will now be granted after 40 votes instead of 50. A Rare Vote Crate Key will now be granted after 50 votes instead of 75. Check out the rest of the rewards you can get from /vote or 》vote-here by typing /mvote rewards in game!
  3. Chat filter: We are currently evaluating our chat filter. If changes are made in the near future, you can expect an announcement to be made when they are implemented.
  4. Faction leader tutorial: It was decided that the focus for interactive tutorials will first be on the faction leader part, considering this is the part currently not covered by any other form of tutorial. Currently the project is nearing completion of its groundwork, once those are finished we will be asking regular players to assist in developing this part!

  6. We are working on a new gamemode, which will be revealed when finished! Keep your eyes peeled for announcements in the Survival Community Discord.
  7. Four main guides for new players we have listed on our Server Info channel, FactionsLockingShop, and Regals, in our discord are in the process of being updated.
  8. The usual help chats, 46+ tickets, rule enforcement and staff training has been ongoing.

World
This week, the entirety of the World Department got together to work towards finishing the builds for the upcoming MassiveRaces Dungeons, along with doing the general upkeep of in-game tickets and build requests for Roleplay.

  • WaterDruppelSpunSugarBunemmaPatsie and Yigit all worked on building prefab dungeon ’tiles’, for a total of 42 unique pieces.
  • WaterDruppel continued to map out and build the lay-out of the Dungeon lobby, and decorated the Yanar and Eronidas portals.
  • SpunSugar also updated the /tp crates area with the new seasonal DecoHeads, and decorated Regalian spawn, fasttravel, and activity board for Halloween.

PR
The PR team continued on with their own personal projects this week! The third episode of the Massivecast was recorded this week, with editing hopefully to be finished by early next week.

  • Kirishark submitted the PR round-up, recorded an episode of the Massivecast and is currently working on editing the podcast.
  • Femma upkept social media posts, recorded an episode of the Massivecast and assisted other PR members with finding projects.
  • Flossy recorded an episode of the podcast.
  • Wynstiel upkept social media posts.
  • Seoulmate upkept social media posts.
  • Indyfan worked on the rp ambience project.

Tech
– MLock update for improved handling for hoppers (Locked container/hopper with hoppers turned on can receive items from unlocked container/hopper).
– Kingdoms & Sieges progressing, see the Survival Discord for regular updates.
– Kathar Race update underway, moving to test server :)

Quest
Review, testing, and approval of upcoming Quest Workshop.

Lore
As you may have already noticed, OOC Notice Board has been replaced with 2 channels, which are described as the following:

#ic-advertisements which exists for strictly in-character notices. Please be sure to read the rules on this, as it is important to note that this channel is 100% in-character.

#ooc-roleplay-requests which exists for OOC notices. This ranges to anything from group recruitment, to requesting arcs such as forcefully being infected with vampirism.

These changes aren’t retroactive, but will be enforced from this point on.

The Hoglander Culture has been removed due to its role as a unifier of opposing, even hostile, Cultures being absorbed by Imperial Culture. I recommend anyone who played a Hoglander convert to playing someone influenced by Imperial Culture, or adapt to one of the other North-region Cultures.

Cratos update is live.

Players live in a safe environment where they can be guaranteed that their character will not be killed, maimed, or permanently marred with anything other than a sick verbal burn that is quickly forgotten, due to the way the rules are formed, and general reluctance of the staff to impart long term harm on player characters. This conflicts very strongly with the fact that so called “Powerful Entities” (Dragons, Arken, Void Gods, Old Gods, etc.) exist, and roam on occasion in events, but seem really tooth-less within the frame of actual interactions. The Regalian guard commands more respect, because it as an entity has killed more player characters than all Arken combined have in the last few years, and it is starting to show in terms of how casual or with contempt most player characters act towards these entities.

To remedy this situation, and because lore-compliant acknowledgement of the theoretical “power level” of these entities is not acknowledged, we have chosen to grant perpetual and immediate character perma-death and maiming permissions to all Powerful Entities defined as Dragons, Arken, Void/Exist Gods, Unspoken Gods, Emperors, and any other quasi-divine deiety as when portrayed by a staff member, within common sense reason in the context of their interactions, and with the player reasonably being OOC aware what they are interacting with. What this means is that these individuals are not allowed to just whimsically kill player characters, but if a Character continues to disregard what we consider a proper IC response to these entities, and continues to fail-rp with no regard for their own life while interacting, that this life may be taken to set an example.

To elaborate: Special Permissions are now ‘Free Form’

 The World/Occult Progs are going to be looked at, I’m most likely going to merge them, and then revise how World Progs are done. The manual re-release will follow before the current events are over.
– I want to take another look with BIlly at how tokens are earned or how they are accrued. Family possession of Tokens is probably fine, but I’d like to create a form of government finance tokens as well that give opportunities in Progressions, but also meaningful choices like “do I fund this guy or that guy’s plan, or risk financial trouble if I fund both?”.
– The Imperial Court positions will all be wiped out and reset, this means everyone loses their Imperial Court positions and associated Title Weight, and the positions will be reconfigured, some positions will not return and some new ones will be made etc. Also re-releasing court etiquette rules on the Wiki.
– Government remains unchanged. The Faction politics system is still in effect, and meetings will resume after the Progression is over. Billy and I will start processing Noble Applications again at the end of the Events, as some have come in, in the meantime.
– Activity as a marker for Title Weight will not negatively affect Title Weight for the first cycle. This means that until next month 15th of so, not having roleplayed your noble will not negatively affect your Title Weight. That being said, if you as player have not been on the server at all, whether on an alternative character or side-gig for the last month+ during the events, I believe there is a level of disgenuine community attachment there that should not be rewarded by just picking up where everything was left off. Players won’t be punished for not being around, but they won’t be rewarded either with these so called “crutch points” that off balance the lack of roleplay lines for those who did stick around.
