Direction:
This week, Direction was exceptionally busy preparing for and coordinating the Kingdoms and Ithania release.

  • MonMarty coordinated the post-export processing of Ithania.
  • CS_Birb prepared and staged server restarts, bug fixes, and solutions to the issues experienced with the Kingdoms plugin upon launch.
  • QGMK coordinated the staff, player, and in-game logistics for the release. He tested last-minute issues and made configuration changes to several plugins.
  • Derpadillo performed individual direction for Quest and Game departments.
  • Birdsfoot_violet performed individual direction for Lore Department.
  • LumosJared performed individual direction for Lore Department.

Quest
This week Quest was focused on getting Ezekiel story ready for launch. Sections were tested and builds deployed with the assistance of Game and Tech. This puts us at 60% ready with the rest coming soon.

  • Iyyiushi assisted in starting Ezekiel Deployment and testing.
  • Derpadillo lead Ezekiel deployment and testing.

Game

  1. The new Kingdoms plugin and the new survival world, Ithania, are live on the server! For more details, go to: https://forums.massivecraft.com/thr…day-bundle-part-2-arrives-this-weekend.97168/
    Some maintenance on Kingdoms can be expected for the coming period to work out any issues as they are discovered.
  2. The remastered End Map is live! /tp end to find an expanded map with a new boss mob, different areas, more caves, End-Pads and more!
  3. A tile entity and redstone limiting plugin is live. This will limit each chunk to 512 tile entities. Chunks currently above this limit will not have anything removed, but you will not be able to place anything new above the limit now the plugin is live. Redstone components are currently not limited.
  4. The following commands were added:
    a. /worlds will display information about and easy teleport to each survival world
    b. /uspawn will teleport you to the lobby
    c. /wspawn will teleport you to the world spawn of the world you are in
    d. /spawn will teleport you to the world spawn of the world you are in
    e. /home will teleport you to your home like /tp home
    f. /fhome will teleport you to your faction home like /f home
    g. /ch g or /channel g can be used to focus general chat. Works with all chat channels
  5. As always, we continue to assist the playerbase by answering questions, moderating rule-breaches and handling 50+ tickets.

  • Effloresce_ assisted with the Ithania launch and assisted players.
  • Rahm_Kota worked on the End Remaster, assisted with the Ithania launch and assisted players.
  • Sevak handled the scoreboard, tested MassiveRaces and assisted players.
  • skhosh worked on Minigames and assisted players.
  • Fiend_of_Massive worked on the End Remaster, tested Kingdoms, assisted with the Ithania launch and assisted players.
  • NjMcr worked on the End Remaster, tested Kingdoms and MythicMobs, worked on lore items, assisted with the Ithania launch and assisted players.
  • wynstiel assisted players.
  • QGMK organized logistics for Kingdoms and Ithania release, created the Worlds GUI, updated world spawn holograms, handled appeals and reports, investigated players, created the regions/holograms/gates for The End and Ithania, performed last minute bug testing for Kingdoms, wrote announcements for the release, added custom commands, tested and configured the tile entity limiting plugin, and handled tickets.

Tech

  • CS_Birb performed numerous ongoing bug fixes for Kingdoms, supported Ithania release, made progress with server update to 1.17, and patched a critical Log4J vulnerability.
  • XVW worked on MRaces development.
  • Fourthirteen performed numerous ongoing bug fixes for Kingdoms, supported Ithania release, worked on 1.17, made small enhancements with MChat, and worked on MRaces.

Lore
Lore Updates:

Genetics has been purged entirely from the wiki. Ultimately, we don’t think the implementation worked in a way that was balanced, respectful, or valuable for the prof system as a whole.

Very little changes historically, but several wiki pages will be broken for a few weeks as we remove Alt-Regalian and New Regalian from the lore, and update pages like Drixon and Griffer.

We decided suddenly to pivot into, rather than shuffling all content from the current Race page into one Affliction page, we’re going to be splitting it into 3 pages. A Sihndar Culture Page, a Northern Taint Affliction Page, and Banner Holds Geography/City Lore page. So, more content, but, it’s going to take a little longer. With oversight, we should see it in the processing/publishing stage within a week. This is the extent of the update.

Home Enchant 8: The user is able to use Home Enchant 8 inside any Player Region such as Rental House Region or Clandestine Base. When a break-in occurs in this Player Region, the Character who placed this Enchant will immediately be sent a magical missive informing them that someone has entered the premises, though not the identity of the intruders or how they entered. This ping will be sent through in-game PMs if the Player is online, or over the Discord Ticket Bot if they are not, including the rough time of when the break-in occurred. In order to represent this Enchant, the block upon which the front door or gate rests, should be made of Gold Blocks.

Home Enchant 9: The user is able to Home Enchant 9 inside any Player Region such as Rental House Region, Shop Region, or Clandestine Base, adding unique effects to a player character’s crafting, creation, and profession work conducted by the user inside the Region (and also any understudies or apprentices sharing the space). While inside the region where this Enchant is active, the user gains numerous aesthetical options to their work such as superheating metal with their hands, or mystically summoning materials from a tiny portal storage, and much more. There are many various concepts and aesthetical needs the sorcerer may wish to utilize and may do so as long as they bring no harm to another or involve acquiring something they didn’t have already gathered prior. No visualization is needed for this Enchant, but the user may only have one active at any given time.

Pathfinding Art has been purged entirely from the wiki, as with the world system updates, it is no longer accounted when processing, and therefore serves no purpose.

We’re testing out a new addition to the Black Market System: Bounties. We want to give the opportunity to more thug-like characters to earn tokens, and also want to play up the downsides of going against the Fence’s requests on a job/attacking them. There are currently 3 bounties listed on this thread, and they shall remain until they are completed. Once you have completed a bounty, please make a ticket so that it may be marked as completed so others don’t try to claim the bounty after it’s already done.

World
The final touches have been made to the Ithania spawn this week, consisting of fixing up World Painter errors in various caves and implementing the Ithania spawn. Business as usual also did not stand still, with World Staff working on interior decoration and event setups.

  • MonMarty: made the final Ithania map, went around to fix various sites such as caves, waterfalls and entrances. Fixed up the Ithania spawn.

PR
This week PR has been mainly focusing on planning and writing up the 12 days of Plugins holidays showcase. The social medias were updated as usual and we have members on the staff team making sure all the screenshots from the server are edited to make sure they are of high quality before posting. The MassiveCraft Secret Santa names have also been released.

  • Femma: focused on Social media posts this week, as well as getting contents/screenshots from the server.
  • Obilvaify: wrote the Holiday Bundle Part 2 announcement, wrote player guides and helped burn down the tavern at Fort Presford.
  • indyfan98: worked on the 12 Days of MassiveCraft Plugins showcase.
  • FlossyBerryRene: spoke to the voulteneers for the charity raffle, wrote a draft, edited a shit ton of screenshots!
  • Slurmancer: did roleplay group spotlight for burning bridges and plug-in writeups for the 12 days thing in progress.
  • Goldifish: Finished first round of cosmetics with nine different hats with around 8 different colors each and 3 different locations you can put on your head (horns/ears). Finished three plugin spotlights. Wrote up a framework for something to do with adding custom community-created emojis to the discords.
