The Snows have melted in Regalia, and the streets and taverns are filling once more!
Direction
This week, Direction focused on the upcoming Springtime projects.
- LumosJared focused on individual direction and internal hr, as well as the New Years Crate, along with a few Lore and Game members. PR Summaries have been omitted this week due clerical errors.
- MonMarty mapped out the path for Lore in the months to come, and along with Birdsfoot_Violet updated the Kathar overnight.
Game
This week, a video showcasing two projects the survival staff team has been working on, Villagers and Kingdoms & Sieges was released! Check it out:
We also updated the rules regarding the use of alt accounts (https://forums.massivecraft.com/threads/alt-account-rules-update.89725/) and banned the use of world downloads for the purpose of locating hidden structures.
Game worked with PR to condense and revise the announcements that appear in game and are beginning to focus on ways to improve new player experience and retention on the server.
We revisited an old project of creating parties at KitPVP and attempted to get MCMMO parties working again. Other plugins were tested and all of the discussion about Kingdoms in the factions discord was reviewed.
50 player tickets, mythic mob creation, numerous help chats, world cleanup and restoration, and several naughty player investigations were completed. We hosted KOTH and Spleef events events this week! You can vote on which events we host next week here: https://www.massivecraft.com/discord-factions
- BlueChaos created mythic mobs, performed investigations, set up the Shady Merchant for January, and revised the Massive Announcements.
- QGMK aided players, handled appeals, reports & investigations, hosted events, tested 1.16 versions of plugins, revised the Massive Announcements, and gave preliminary talks and training to new aspirants.
- Notchyherobrine aided players in game, hosted events, performed investigations, and gave ticket training to aspirants.
- AzureShoyru answered help chats, learned how to run events, and tested features and bugs with the MassiveSkull, Factions, and MassiveRaces plugins.
- TakeDown__ aided players, hosted events, and trained aspirants on event hosting.
- Sir_Daragon aided players in game, created many intricate mythic mobs, updated training documents, and revised the Massive Announcements.
Lore
Lore Updates
New Event policy:
Server events, unless specified otherwise, are designed for the self-encapsulated experience, not as looting post or during events. What this means is that we will not permit characters to loot, take, salvage or otherwise interact with materials at the event even if logic dictates they should be able to, when the purpose of the event is the experience, not the resources gained from it.

Quest
This week saw the release of the second round of Wintertide festival quests. You can experience them by using /tp hollyridge and talking to any of the yellow named NPC’s there. The long overdue Old Crone’s Cross Country Tour has been re-released as well, you can head down to the west gate of Essalonia’s spawn to embark on this weekly repeatable source of regals and lore items. Silverwind herbalism got a minor visual update that should make it easier to understand what plants you find in the wild and how you can unlock them. And last but not least you should now be able to spawn wolves in Essalonia using Derpadillo’s book of secrets. - Lazzulaiworked on The Grumpy Old Coot quest for the Wintertide festival and helped with its implementation.
- Derpadillo did quest implementation, conducted an interview and hosted the department meeting.
- The_Fluorspar did quest implementation, rewrote the Old Crone’s Cross Country Tour, added a visual improvement to Silverwind herbalism and fixed some minor bugs.
- Vegemiite worked on the Toymaker’s Troubles quest and provided event assistance.
Tech
Tech has been working on various bug fixes within the server:
- CS_Birb has been working on the Massive staff panel as well as fixing minor issues withing MassiveGates. He has also been pair coding with FourThirteen and ItsLateKnight on fixing minor issues within MassiveRaces and MassiveVillagers.
- FourThirteen has been responding to bug reports on the forums as well as testing and fixing bugs within MassiveRaces, MassiveGates and Factions. He has also been working on the Faction board with TheComputerGeek2.
- ItsLateKnight has been working on an issue with Factions where players could grief lily pads with boats.
- XxXYaJrAbXxX has been working on MassiveRaces bug fixing as well as fixing a bug with the creation of holy water with Ghirko, MassiveSkull development and testing, and also brainstorming an attempt of how to implement a GUI for the faction permissions.
- Ghirko has been working on fixing some minor bugs with Vampire where the player could not create holy water. She has also worked on MassiveHats where it would give players an error if they do not have permission to use /hat when attempting to wear vanilla headwear such as pumpkins and helmets.
